Exhibition at Bruxelles 2019

The Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli has been invited to exhibit its works in Brussels, at the European Parliament from 19 to 21 March 2019. In this prestigious location, the exhibition “Mosaici FVG – Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli” will be presented on Tuesday 19 March at 5.30 pm, with some works created by the skilled hands of the Spilimbergo’s mosaicists. The initiative is promoted by MEP Isabella De Monte to introduce our region to the event “Friuli Venezia Giulia. Italian European region ”, in collaboration with the Fvg Regional Committee of the National Pro Loco Union (UNPLI FVG). “The event,” said De Monte, “aims to let know the Friuli Venezia Giulia to Europe and to tell the natural beauties, art, history and richness of our food and wine through beatiful photographs, mosaics and a tasting of excellent products from our area. The Friuli Venezia Giulia isn´t a peripheral region but central in the heart of Europe: giving a voice to our beauties in Brussels is a great pride for me ».

This exhibition is an opportunity to introduce to new public an art that for centuries has represented the determining element of the identity of a territory and its community. Since its inception in 1922, the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli combines the strength of tradition, synonymous with professional discipline, and sensitivity to the most innovative trends in contemporary art. Continuous research and experimentation, in fact, make the School unique in the world. The main objective is to train young mosaic artists every year, from all continents, to offer to mosaic art a future worthy of the great past of this noble art.

The “Mosaici FVG – Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli” exhibition, although brief, is therefore an opportunity to raise awareness among the European public and promote mosaic art, an excellence not only in the Friuli Venezia-Giulia region but in Italy and around the world.
