Descendants of countrymen abroad at the Scuola Mosaicisti
Following a collaboration – which is repeated from different editions – between the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli and Ente Friuli in the World, this year a mosaic introduction course was organized for young descendants of countrymen abroad, all enthusiastic to deepen the mosaic art, rooted in the territory of their ancestors and enhanced by the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli. They come from far away: Pez Agustin, Migotti Paula, Rossi Marina, Portalez Lucia, Francisco Maria Eugenia, Sartor Wilson Ruben, Petean Cecilia Laura, Francile Laciar Giuliana Andrea Bertini Pablo Agustin from Argentina, Trevisan Capeletti Barbara, Trevisan De Nardi Francieli, Patias Santos Mariana from Brazil, Pauletto Nicholas James from Australia.
Welcomed by the President of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli Stefano Lovison, they visited the Institute and the historic center of Spilimbergo. Now they are following the mosaic course in the laboratory: the teacher Giulia Palamin accompanies them in the realization of individual mosaics of historical subject recalling the first steps that the mosaic has made in our region in Aquileia; with the teacher Eleonora Zannier are measured instead with more free and contemporary subjects. They combine the past and the present, rediscover their roots in the territory and feed on new stimuli.
