A mosaic for Cordenons
The municipal administration of Cordenons has requested a mosaic work from the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli to celebrate the thirtieth edition of the Festa della Zucca (Pumpkin Festival), an event, which has now become historic, which will enliven the historic center of the town in the coming days.
The theme of the mosaic could only be the classic carved pumpkin, whose mouth opening highlights the indication of the year, a significant element to connect the work to the anniversary.
The councilor for culture and education of the Municipality of Cordenons Loris Zancai and the head of the Culture Service Simone Giacomello were present to collect the mosaic, created in the School’s laboratories by the master mosaicist Giulia Palamin. Welcomed by the director of the School Gian Piero Brovedani, they were immortalized with the work that will be publicly presented tomorrow afternoon, Saturday 26 October, at the inauguration ceremony of the Festival.
The mosaic will then be displayed on the wall of the Cordenons Town Hall where over a dozen mosaic representations have already been placed which rework the theme of the pumpkin in a playful and creative way and on which the School has collaborated since the early 2000s.
