Two events in memory of Nane Zavagno
On Saturday 12 April 2025, a double exhibition event will be inaugurated in memory of the artist Nane Zavagno.
The event will begin in the town hall of San Giorgio della Richinvelda at 9.30 a.m. with a talk by William Cortes Casarrubios of the Scuola Normale di Pisa, dedicated to the biography of Zavagno. This will be followed at 10.45 a.m. in the town hall of Mereto di Tomba by a talk by Serenella Todesco of the University of Udine on Zavagno’s artistic profile as a mosaicist and sculptor, followed by the screening of the interview with the artist by Professor Alessandro Del Puppo in 2012.
Gian Piero Brovedani, director of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, will also be present to illustrate Nane Zavagno’s important contribution to the art of mosaics. Zavagno was in fact first a student and then a teacher at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli. There are several mosaics designed and created by him that can be admired in the region as well as within the School.
