CREAttivo #2. Winning projects selected.
As part of the project entitled CREAttivo #2. Art and business FVG in the Park, curated by the Maravee Cultural Association with the support of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and in collaboration with Scuola mosaicisti del Friuli and the companies Gervasoni, Very Wood and Legnolandia, a competition of ideas was held for the second year aimed at the creation of surfaces mosaics in the field of furniture.
Aimed at the students of the Scuola mosaicisti del Friuli, the call this year provided for the study and design of interventions on four different types of objects: a table and benches that make up the Kit ambiente produced by the Legnolandia company, a bulletin board to contain information, Notice board type 10, also from Legnolandia; the Divano isola 801 by Very Wood; the Mirror sweet 98 della Gervasoni.
Twenty students who participated in the competition with one or more projects, for a total of 37 proposals that were carefully examined by the competition commission which met on Friday 21 May 2021 at the Scuola mosaicisti del Friuli. In addition to Sabrina Zannier, artistic director of the CREAttivo project, and Gian Piero Brovedani, director of the Scuola mosaicisti del Friuli, Marino De Santa, president of the Legnolandia company, Elena Gervasoni, representative of the Very Wood company, Anna Sindona responsible for communication and external relations of the Gervasoni company, were also called to evaluate the projects.
Among the criteria considered: the ability of the mosaic intervention to harmonize and enhance the design of the proposed objects, respect for the values of sustainability and cost-effectiveness of the mosaic creation, the correspondence of the concept imagined with the themes of the competition that is the importance of relationships human beings, of shared daily life, of socialization in nature.
The winning projects that will be carried out by the students themselves, on the furniture and furnishing accessories made available by the three companies, are:
• Reborn by Laura Seravalli (course III) for the Kit ambiente of the Legnolandia company;
• Paths that unite by Jonas Paul Giubbini (course I) for the Notice board of the Legnolandia company;
• The red thread that unites us by Jonas Paul Giubbini (course I) for the Divano of the Very Wood company;
• Beyond the reflection of Iris Picco and Amos Carcano (III and II course respectively) for the Mirror by Gervasoni.
The finished works will be exhibited in December at Palazzo Tadea in Spilimbergo, an occasion in which the winning students will be publicly awarded. The mosaic interventions on the Kit ambiente and on the Notice board will already be visible and “usable” from this summer in the park of the castle of Gemona del Friuli.
