New appointments for the exhibition on Gillo Dorfles
The exhibition Il segno rivelatore di Gillo (The revealing sign of Gillo) inaugurated at the end of last year in Trieste, at the Stelio Crise State Library (in Largo Papa Giovanni XXIII, 6), has been extended until at 4th of March 2020 with a new installation (exhibition rooms on the first floor ) and works not previously exhibited.
The Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli participates in it with documents and mosaic works that recount Professor Dorfles’ visit and the meeting with the students of the School in 2009. It was a seminar full of stimuli and suggestions that will be remembered by the director of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, Gian Piero Brovedani, invited to one of the three collateral events organized in the coming weeks. Wednesday 12 February from 17.00, the director Brovedani, introduced by the president of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, Stefano Lovison, will hold a conversation with the curator of the exhibition Marianna Accerboni on the art of mosaic and in particular on the mosaics present in Trieste and on the specifics of the School.
More than a hundred drawings and graphics make up the exhibition, as well as documents, letters, books and photographs that present the artistic and professional experience of Gillo Dorfles, from the 1930s to 2017, also proposing new aspects thanks to the collaboration of the Associazione Gillo Dorfles. The visiting hours are from Monday to Thursday from 9.00 to 18.30 and on Friday and Saturday from 9.00 to 13.30.
