One hundred years of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli
Saturday 10 December, at 10.30, in Spilimbergo at the Cinema Teatro Miotto an event will be held to conclude this important and rich year for the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, the hundredth of its activity.
It will be an opportunity to retrace the many events that have dotted 2022 and which have seen the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli protagonist in making known and deepened, with conferences, presentations and exhibitions, not only its history, but the art of mosaic itself. A moment therefore that celebrates the end of this long and important anniversary which started right at the Cinema Teatro Miotto on 22 January 2022.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, various prizes will be awarded: the “Gian Domenico Facchina Prize” promoted by the Municipality of Sequals to honor the famous mosaicist originally from Sequals (dedicated to the students of the first course); the “Premio Nemo Gonano” established by the Rotary Club Maniago-Spilimbergo in memory of dr. Nemo Gonano, who in addition to being an active member of the Rotary Club, was for ten years, from 1994 to 2004, president of the Consortium for the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli (dedicated to the students of the second course); the “Pietro Ronzat Award” strongly desired by Pietro Ronzat to support young Master Mosaicists, supported by the SEPOL srl Company (dedicated to the students of the III course).
Furthermore, an important prize will be bestowed by Friulovest Banca for the competition “A Mosaic … in the School” reserved for primary and secondary schools of the I and II level of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, a competition which has met with considerable success with the participation of 48 schools and the sending of over 1100 drawings, including drawings, graphic projects, paintings and collages, which aspire to become a mosaic.
