Registration for the 2024/2025 school year is open
Registration for the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli for the 2024/2025 training year officially opens on Monday 5 February 2024, even if all the information on the high professional training path for the qualification of Master Mosaicist is already available on the School’s website.
To register you must not be over 40 years of age and be in possession of a secondary school diploma or a degree or a professional qualification (or equivalent qualifications). It is not necessary to demonstrate artistic or technical skills, the training course will provide the student with all the conceptual and operational foundations to develop and achieve the necessary skills.
Lasting three years, the study plan is structured into theoretical and practical lessons: the latter characterize the learning experience at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli. Each subject of study is in fact connected to the future profession, so that the theoretical lessons of drawing, color theory, geometric design, materials technology, computer graphics, digital modelling, documentation-enhancement of mosaic works and history of mosaics are reflected in the design and in the development of autonomous design, construction and installation solutions. However, it is the mosaic and terrazzo workshop hours that have the greatest impact on the training path and transmit to the students the preparation necessary to carry out works with different techniques and styles, from Roman mosaic to Byzantine and contemporary, from the direct technique to the indirect one of reverse on paper, from the use of classic materials such as stones and enamels to more expressive and less traditional choices, from the installation and covering of different surfaces, to the execution of mosaic and terrazzo floors.
Precisely because of this specificity, the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli is also seen abroad as a point of reference for the art of mosaic and welcomes students from different countries around the world every year: thus there is an international atmosphere, where mosaic is the language common place of comparison and integration, a universal artistic language that has roots in the history and tradition of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Please also remember that it is possible to hold personalized orientation meetings: the most suitable for learning about the School’s activities and finding answers to doubts and curiosities. Then there are the short courses, different and scheduled between spring and summer, to get closer to the art of mosaic by holding, under the guidance of expert teachers, a hammer and creating your own mosaic work.
The deadline for enrollment in the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli is set for 30 June 2024.
The places available are limited, for the 2024/2025 training year no more than forty students will be admitted.
