DNA Arte della Vita (DNA Art of Life)
At the invitation of Fondazione Malattie Rare “Mauro Baschirotto” Onlus in Costozza di Longare (VI), the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli participates in the DNA – Arte della Vita (DNA – Art of Life) exhibition which will be inaugurated on Friday 14 February at 10.45 in the Palazzo delle Opere Sociali, in Piazza del Duomo 2, in Vicenza.
Promoted by the Foundation, the exhibition, through unscientific language, aims to draw attention to the microuniverse of DNA, the double helix containing the genetic heritage of each of us. It is the imagination and creativity of art that interpret complex and current themes in the field of Genetic Research and Bioethics: certainly the uniqueness and diversity of all living beings as artistic expressions are unique and different, but also the role of DNA in health and disease, the influence of external factors on DNA, discoveries in human genetics, pharmacology, zoology and botany and technologies to modify DNA. A stimulus to deepen and increase interest in the new frontiers of science and give hope to many sick people.
Ten are the mosaics, connected to these themes, that the School has selected from its Gallery and that will be exhibited together with works by artists from the Triveneto, and beyond, at the Museo Diocesano of Vicenza, where the exhibition has been set up and will be open to visitors until as of May 31, 2020.
