The Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli is featured in the second episode of the TV series Viaggi di.segno – Storie di bellezza e creatività italiana (Journeys of Beauty – Stories of Italian Beauty and Creativity), which will air on Sky Arte on 16 November 2025 at 9.45 p.m.
A new TV series, Viaggi di.segno – Storie di bellezza e creatività italiana, will begin on Sky Arte on 16 November at 9.15 p.m. It will also be streamed on NOW and available on demand. Produced by Artlouder and Inspiring People Relations, the new series is based on an original idea by Francesca Concina from Friuli.
It is a six-part journey to discover Italian excellence in the world of design and art, an emotional and engaging story told directly by the protagonists themselves. The aim is to accompany the audience on a journey of discovery of places, stories and people that represent the best of Italian creativity, including innovative architecture, contemporary art museums and manufacturing districts that symbolise Made in Italy.
The second episode of the series, broadcast on 16 November 2025 at 9.45 p.m., is dedicated to Friuli Venezia Giulia and features two symbols of excellence: the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli for art, and Snaidero for design.
Director Gian Piero Brovedani will illustrate how the ancient art of mosaic has made Spilimbergo a centre of attraction for students from all over the world, guardian and promoter of knowledge ranging from Roman and Byzantine to modern mosaics. Walking among the mosaics on display in the School, which resembles an art and design gallery, Brovedani retraces the history of the school, recounting its vision, mission and future. The students play a leading role through their daily work: from collecting stones on the Tagliamento river to the collective creation of the works.
«It is a high-profile, rather selective training course, but unique and successful for the future of those who want to work in the art of mosaics,» explains Gian Piero Brovedani, director of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli. «Looking at the nationalities of the students, there are about fifteen: this makes the School a model of integration where daily commitment unites future Mosaic Masters, where different identities come together, where each work is a synthesis of technique, history and multicultural dialogue. The Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli is both the cradle of tradition and a driving force for innovation in the art of mosaic.
This is the contribution of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli to Made in Italy: respect for the ‘knowledge’ inherited from the masters and artisan workshops of western Friuli, care in the choice of materials, the search for forms of expression in step with the present, and a constant focus on quality, capable of distinguishing itself and proudly ‘telling the story’ of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Italy».
For Snaidero, Alessandro Trivillin, CEO, and Roberto Dreolini, Sales Director, will retrace the key stages in the company’s history.
At the end of filming and ahead of the series’ broadcast, executive producer Francesca Concina reveals: «I am very proud to be able to tell two stories of great value that make my Friuli Venezia Giulia region internationally recognised for its excellence in design and art. With “Viaggi di.segno”, we wanted to create a visual narrative that combines aesthetics, content and identity. It is a project that promotes Italy’s creative heritage through a contemporary and accessible language, capable of exciting and inspiring a wide and diverse audience».
