A stele in memory of Lorenzo Parelli

A stele and a bench were inaugurated on Thursday 1 February 2024 in the Moretti public park in Udine and are dedicated to Lorenzo Parelli, an eighteen-year-old boy from Friuli who died in a tragic accident at work during a school-work internship period. On the stele there is a stylized effigy of Lorenzo, a mosaic work by the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli.

Strongly desired by the Udine section of ANMIL, the National Association of Mutilated and Work-Invalid Workers, this discreet monument, appreciated by park users, is a symbolic exhortation to activate all possible forms of prevention since safety at work is a social and collective responsibility as underlined in the Lorenzo Charter, a document written together with the Region to highlight the importance of training on this topic.

Present at the inaugural event were the Parelli family, representatives of the Municipality of Udine, of ANMIL, the president and director of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, the police commissioner of Udine, the president of the Labor Commission of the Chamber Walter Rizzetto and numerous students of the high school.
