Ceremony for the new Master Mosaic Artists
Tomorrow, Thursday 18 June 2026, at 4.00 pm, at Palazzo La Loggia in Spilimbergo, the ceremony to award the professional qualification certificates to Master Mosaic Artists will take place.
Fifteen students have completed their professional training during the 2025/2026 academic year: Sasha Anisimova, Irene Calderini, Francesca Chionna, Matilde Colli, Andrea Corradini, Chiara De Stefano, Eugenia Dutikova, Adriana Gasparotto, Alexandra-Oana Gemanar, Giada Giaconi, Giulia Menegon, Jacopo Mingozzi, Veronica Pessotto, Spyridon Votsis, Nataliia Vyshnevska.
On this occasion, the winner of the Prize named after Nane Zavagno – an artist who recently passed away, who trained at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in the 1950s before moving on to other forms of expression, whilst never abandoning mosaic or his connection with the medium – will also be announced. The Zavagno Prize will be awarded to the mosaics – created by the third-year students themselves – that most closely reflect the artist’s aesthetic and his way of perceiving and interpreting the tiles and the composition.
On this day, the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli will close an hour earlier in the afternoon. Therefore, on Thursday, June 18th, it will be open from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
