Mosaic art between history and tradition
The exhibition L’arte musiva tra storia e tradizione (Mosaic art between history and tradition) will be inaugurated on Saturday 16 March 2024, spread across three locations in Spilimbergo.
In fact, from 16 March to 5 May 2024 three exhibitions will be open to visitors:
Ideazioni sacre (Sacred Ideas), at Palazzo La Loggia in Piazza Duomo, with preparatory sketches for the creation of sacred mosaics;
Pensiero creativo (Creative thought), in the Gallery of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in viale Barbacane, with sketches and drawings created by the great artists of the 20th century who collaborated with the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli;
Mestiere come arte. 200 fotografie raccontano (Craft as art. 200 photographs tell the story), in the Church of San Giovanni dei Battuti in via Mazzini, with images that tell the story of the mosaic masters and the mosaic works created throughout the world during the 1900s.
The exhibitions, with free admission, can be visited on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 6.30 pm.
