Participation in the AIMC International Congress
The Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli was invited to the AIMC International Congress which took place at the MAR Museum of Art in the city of Ravenna, on 10 and 11 October 2022. The International Association of Contemporary Mosaicists organizes this appointment every two years addressing a specific theme and inviting speakers from all over the world. Entitled The mosaic: a sacred art between cultures and technologies, the AIMC 2022 Congress, now in its 17th edition, was divided into numerous interventions and presentations of works, projects and technical and aesthetic reflections relating to the art of mosaic.
On the morning of Monday 10 October, the director of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, Gian Piero Brovedani, recounted the 100 years of activity of this training reality, so specific and particular that it represents something unique in the world. In the audience there were several former students, now established professionals, with workshops started in Italy and abroad.
The Congress is part of the VII Biennial of Contemporary Mosaic in Ravenna (from 8 October to 27 November 2022), an event with a rich calendar consisting of meetings, shows, events, exhibitions, also organized in historic and evocative spaces of the city.
