Prize CREAttivo #2
The second edition of the CREAttivo project, the competition of ideas reserved for the students of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli and aimed at creating mosaic surfaces for design, is underway. Conceived by the Maravee Cultural Association, the competition was born from the collaboration with the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli and sees the participation of three furniture manufacturing companies Gervasoni, Legnolandia and Very Wood.
This year CREAttivo #2. Art and business FVG in the Park turns its attention to life in the open air, collectively shared everyday life and socialization in the nature; promotes the values of environmental sustainability and social relations.
The goal is to design a mosaic work that fits into the furnishing objects, effective both from an aesthetic and functional point of view, with the possibility of characterizing the finished product.
The students will test themselves from the conceptual stage to create a mosaic intervention that enhances the furnishing accessory and is sustainable in economic terms and therefore studied with regard to the timing of implementation and the materials used.
The furniture elements chosen are a symbol of dialogue and “immersion” in nature. Produced by Legnolandia and destined for the Gemona del Friuli Castle Park are an Ambiente kit, consisting of a table and benches, and the Type 10 bulletin board. The Very Wood company offers students the challenge of Divano isola 801 by designer This Weber and the Gervasoni company instead proposes the Specchio Sweet 98 by designer Paola Navone, which, however, will be considered not as a single work but as a context of four units.
The CREAttivo # 2 project aims to promote and spread beauty in everyday life and demonstrate once again how, through creative research, an ancient art such as mosaic finds an outlet in contemporaneity and design and how from their encounter it can be born a new and unique synergy.
The projects presented by the students will be evaluated by a special Commission composed of a representative for each company involved, the Artistic Director of the CREAttivo project Sabrina Zannier and the Director of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli Gian Piero Brovedani. The jury will meet in the first days of May to decide the winning projects of the competition.
