Proclaimed the most voted bag by Tiles of color
The winner of the “Tiles of color” competition organized by the Dudu Bags company in collaboration with the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli was announced on Friday 24 November.
At the end of October 2023, the students of the third and specialization courses were asked to create a project that incorporated the mosaic into a bag produced by the Dudu company.
The mosaic intervention was intended to make the bag, made of leather and with essential shapes, a unique and exclusive model.
Ten participants designed very different solutions with specific concepts, excluding the most banal solution, namely the juxtaposition of tiles on the surface. The students imagined that the leather and the mosaic communicated with each other, making real work samples which were then transferred to the digital project.
The proposals presented were put to public scrutiny on the official social pages. The votes collected were 916 and confirmed the winner of the “Tiles of color” competition.
This is Aurora Margarita with the “Scrigno” project: the mosaic illuminates and embellishes the bag thanks to the choice of gold tiles that appear from the soft engraved leather to form small openings from which the light and sparkle of the gold comes out.
The proposals of Erika Fantin (third place) and Anna Fontana (second place) were also highly appreciated.
The “Tiles of color” project involves the creation of the winning bag and the exhibition of it and all the projects in Venice in spring 2024.
