The Art high school “Max Fabiani” in Gorizia meets the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli
The students of the fourth and fifth classes of the Art high school (Liceo d’arte) “Max Fabiani” in Gorizia met the director of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, Gian Piero Brovedani, in a special post-diploma orientation appointment, to learn more about the training and job opportunities of those who obtain the professional qualification of Master Mosaicist.
The meeting, which took place yesterday morning, 8 April 2024, in Gorizia, in the main hall of the Art school Fabiani, was also an opportunity to deliver the mosaic work Il Friuli Venezia Giulia, carried out by the specialization course of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, a.f. 2022/2023, based on a sketch by student Arman Delic from class III A of high school, school year. 2022/2023, coordinated by the teacher Ivan Crico. This sketch, symbolically depicting our region through references to the sea, the mountains and wine, was the winner of the section relating to secondary schools in the competition Un Mosaico… in Scuola organized for the centenary of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli. of second degree, allowing the “Max Fabiani” art high school in Gorizia to obtain the prize made available by Banca 360 FVG and above all to receive the original mosaic work which reproduces the work of the student Delic.
The delivery therefore took place at the opening of the orientation meeting and saw the presence of Marzia Battistutti, director of the State Institute of Higher Secondary Education “G. D’Annunzio – M. Fabiani” and Chiara Gatta, vice mayor of the Municipality of Gorizia. Visibly moved, the student Arman Delic explained to the audience of classmates how the creation of a symbolic image was born that summarized the peculiarities of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and received from the hands of director Brovedani the catalog of the Mosaico&Mosaici 2023 exhibition where the mosaic is been played.
Coordinated by professors Federica Valvassori and Elisa Baldo, with the participation also of professors Paolo Troian and Franca Marri, the meeting then continued with a presentation of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli by the director Brovedani who, in addition to highlighting the importance of art mosaic in the regional and national artistic tradition, has framed the birth and development of the School as a reality of training and promotion of this art at an international level, as demonstrated by the numerous students coming from abroad and the works that are placed throughout the world.
Interspersing the explanation with some videos, director Brovedani illustrated the professionalising course, a three-year course with a rich educational program made up of theoretical lessons and many laboratory hours.
This was followed by the testimony of Dalila Loiacono, a former student of the Gorizia art high school and now a student of the specialization course at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli. Mosaic artist Loiacono enthusiastically recounted the opportunities that the School offered her and the possibilities that now lie ahead of her, in fact possessing all the skills to tackle any type of mosaic intervention.
There was no shortage of questions from Fabiani students who also asked for details on the selection and enrollment methods. The meeting ended with director Brovedani’s exhortation to come and visit the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli alone or with the guidance teachers to experience the atmosphere and see its activities.
