The Majano and Susans Blood Donor Monument
The Monument to Blood Donors of the AFDS sections of Majano and Susans will be inaugurated on Sunday 21 May 2023 at 9.45 am.
The Monument located at the roundabout on the SS 463 (roundabout near the Snaidero company) was created in collaboration with the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli and intends to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the associative activity AFDS – Associazione Friulana Donatori di Sangue (Friulian Blood Donors Association) present in the Municipality of Majano.
The mosaic incorporates the symbol of the Association, a pelican, an animal which by ancient symbolism is linked to sacrifice, to blood as a gift of life, to charity.
