Mirko becomes a mosaicist
On Monday 6 March 2023, one of the next episodes of the series broadcast on RaiPlay entitled I mestieri di Mirko (Mirko’s trades), directed by Paolo Tommasini, was filmed at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli.
The protagonist, Mirko Matteucci, travels around Italy, meeting artisans who carry out trades linked to the history and tradition of a territory. Mirko, through direct experience, thus tells of the particular trades that are linked to ancient knowledge and to a national cultural, artistic, natural and culinary heritage that has a thousand facets.
The teacher Cristina De Leoni thus guided Mirko to discover the mosaic with its materials and techniques. The protagonist experimented with the use of the hammer, the laying of the tesserae, the creation of the flour glue… In a day at the Scuola Mirko and the troupe they got to know how many expressive possibilities there are of the mosaic and how much the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli represent a unique reality in the Italian panorama.
