CREAttivo playground in Aquileia

A new public playground will be inaugurated on Friday 27 October 2023, at 10.30 am, in Aquileia as the final result of the CREAttivo #4 project, curated by the Maravee Cultural Association.
Thanks to the collaboration between the Municipality of Aquileia and the Aquileia Foundation, a playful/sensory space has been created which sees the games produced by the Legnolandia company embellished and made unique by mosaic interventions designed and executed by Pauline Debuchy, a student of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, winner of the CREAttivo #4. Arte e Impresa FVG in Cammino.

The CREAttivo project, now in its fourth edition, involves the participation of local companies and the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli and aims to bring production sectors into dialogue with art. Already in previous years, interventions have been carried out in green spaces: in Gemona in the park surrounding the Castle, in Gorizia in the public park dedicated to Gianni Rodari and now in an area in Corso Gramsci in Aquileia.
In a joint note Stefano Lovison and Gian Piero Brovedani, respectively president and director of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, declared referring to the inauguration of the new space: “This is the achievement of an important objective which demonstrates how functional elements suitable for play and for the enjoyment of young users can, through decorative and high technical profile interventions, become unique art objects. Craftsmanship marries design, giving aesthetic quality to the park games designed by Legnolandia”.

The mosaic, the protagonist art in Aquileia, therefore falls into the present, in a place open to the community and to the acute sensitivity of young users. What will be seen on the park’s games is a mosaic in contemporary forms, although Pauline Debuchy was deliberately inspired by testimonies of the past in harmony with the history of a territory and its roots.

For the new park, the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli has also created floor modules that reproduce the characteristics of the Roman mosaic: they are large tiles that make up a symbolic path that leads from the past to the future, to the new generations where play is fundamental for well-being and their harmonious development, including artistic and creative.
