Maravee dress. A union of arts: clothes and mosaics
Four large mosaics made by the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, taken from the Aquileian floors, are exhibited in Grado at the exhibition Maravee dress. Motivi di Natura\ Benedetti Life curated by the Maravee Cultural Association. The mosaics that meet in the first room of the Casa della Musica, in Piazza Biagio Marin 2, where the exhibition is set up, are the backdrop for the clothes of the Slovenian designer Matea Benedetti to whom the exhibition is dedicated.
The Benedetti life brand that the designer founded, wants to overcome the division between luxury dress and environmental sustainability, combining aesthetics, ethical awareness, stylistic and technological innovation. The clothes recall motifs from the natural world, but above all they are produced with processes that respect the health of man and the planet. Thus recycled materials, biodegradable fibers are used, the use of fur, leather and feathers is banned.
In 2014 Matea Benedetti was selected by “Vogue Italia” among the top 20 most promising designers in the world and in 2017 she was among the five finalists at the Green Carpet Award.
In the entrance hall the clothes inspired by the Amazon rainforest have as background the large mosaics of the school in a dialogue of different artistic expressions that have a single subject: nature.
